Why I Am Opposed To The HS2 Proposals

In this video, I explain why I am opposed to the Government proposals for the High Speed Rail 2 (HS2) project in the UK.

In principle, I am not against high speed rail as we do need long term investment in our rail networks. However, the proposed route is wrong and the cost is too high.

This route will destroy our homes, our businesses, a unique museum and the renovation of Chesterfield Canal. It will also provide years of uncertainty.

Peoples lives will change forever, and its effects will be devastating for us in North East Derbyshire.

The route must therefore be changed, or stopped, and I will continue to fight this in Westminster.
