Refugee Crisis

The stories and scenes we have heard and seen on our TV screens have been shocking. This is now one of the worst humanitarian  crises to hit Europe since the Second World War.

I have always felt that the Government should be doing more to help and this appears to be a view shared in many of the letters and emails I have received.

Despite early resistance to taking any action on this crisis, the Government has now said that an extra 20,000 spaces will be made available over the next five years for Syrian refugees from camps in Lebanon, Turkey and Jordan.
