A group of women from North East Derbyshire joined me in Parliament on 12 May to campaign against the recent changes to women’s state pensions. It was fantastic to meet with this inspirational group of women and to hear their stories.
Whilst they were in Westminster, the group also met with the Shadow Minister for Women and Equalities, Kate Green, and Barbara Keeley MP, who has been leading the WASPI campaign in Parliament.
WASPI- Women Against State Pensions Inequalities- is a network of women up and down the country who were born in the 1950s and have suddenly found that they have to work up to six years longer that they had expected before they can claim their state pensions.
